Frequently Asked Questions

What is the shelf life for glues?

Our adhesives have a 12 month shelf life from the moment they are manufactured. Once opened, your glue will be good for 1-2 months depending on usage, aftercare and storage. We recommend noting the date upon opening so you can keep an accurate recording of when to stop using the product.

Which glue is best for sensitive eyes?

We would recommend our UV Lash system and Glue for sensitive clients as it contains a lower concentration of acrylates compared to regular glues. However, it is always recommended that additional training in the use of UV Lash systems is conducted before there use.

Why shouldn’t I stock up on glues during the sale?

We do not advise stocking up on large quantities of glues. This is because glues have a shelf life and if you purchase too many glues at once, you will not be able to use them within the recommended period. We recommend you only purchase glues that you intend to use within the next 6 months and make sure you store them appropriately. (Please see FAQ below, What’s the best way to store my adhesive?)

What’s the best way to store my adhesive?

Unopened bottles: Store in a cool, dry place inside of an air-tight container with silica standing up vertically.

Opened bottles: Store in a cool, dry place inside of an air-tight container with silica standing up vertically and use within 2 months.

Ensure adhesives are stored in a controlled environment at all times.

Avoid direct sunlight, heat and open flames.

Use lint-free wipes or a synthetic makeup sponge to keep nozzle squeaky clean, free from glue residue. Never allow adhesive to come in contact with cotton products such as Q-tips, paper towels, tissues, cotton rounds, etc.

Secure lid tightly to reduce moisture exposure and maintain performance.

Replace glue drop as consistency begins to change.

What is your fastest glue?

Our fastest glue would be our 0.5 second glue with a 0.5-1 second drying time, closely followed by our 1 second glue, which have a drying time of 1-2 seconds. Our slowest drying glue is our sensitive glue with a drying time of 2-4 seconds.

I’m a beginner. Which glue should I use?

We recommend our 1 second glue for beginners due to it being humidity dependent. The perfect humidity for its use is 30-60%. You can slow down the glues drying time by reducing the humidity. This is perfect for technicians who are new at lashing and are still developing their techniques.

Which glue should I use?

This depends on how long you have been lashing, how much experience you have, and how quickly you work. All of our glues are 5ml so that lash technicians are able to trial and test the adhesives. The nozzle on my glue is blocked. What should I do?

A clogged nozzle on your adhesive can easily be avoided if you store and look after your glue in the correct way. Below are some great tips to help you keep your adhesive working to its optimal level.

– ALWAYS ensure your glue is stored in an upright position, this will help keep the nozzle clear of any glue build up. An Adhesive Container is a perfect solution because you can keep the container standing up, whilst also keeping air and moisture out.

• Shake the glue bottle for approximately 10 seconds before use with the lid tightly closed.

• If there is any adhesive around the nozzle, use a lint free wipe to get rid of any excess.

• Secure the lid properly and stand the bottle upright, keep in a cool area away from direct sunlight.

• Do NOT use any cotton buds or fibre materials as this will have a chemical reaction with the glue. The fibres from cotton can start to let off a ‘white smoke’ when it comes into contact with the glue. This is called an exothermic reaction. When you clean your nozzle with a cotton bud/pad, tiny fibres will be left behind. Over time, this will eventually melt away the plastic on the nozzle and over time will weaken and snap.
